Xingtai Iron and Steel Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Xinggang") has recently made phased progress in its transformation, upgrading, relocation and reconstruction project. As a key industrial upgrading project in Hebei Province, the first phase of the new project has fully entered the peak construction period. The installation of core equipment for the high-end large coil production line is advancing in an orderly manner, and the overall framework of the project has initially taken shape. At present, more than 90% of the main civil engineering works in the three core production areas of steelmaking, steel rolling and ironmaking have been completed, the construction progress of the plant steel structure has exceeded half, supporting buildings such as the office building in the pre-plant area have all been capped, and mechanical and electrical installation and equipment debugging will be carried out simultaneously. Construction units such as China MCC5 Group and China MCC2 Group have adopted the three-dimensional cross-construction mode of "civil engineering - steel structure - mechanical and electrical installation" to fully ensure the achievement of project node goals.


The core large coil production line of the project integrates a number of internationally advanced technologies. Among them, the German KOCKS three-roll reducing and sizing mill system can control the tolerance to a high precision of ±0.1mm (equivalent to the thickness of A4 paper), meeting the strict standards of special steels such as automobile bearings and high-end spring steel. The whole line is equipped with an intelligent temperature control system and an automated logistics system, realizing precise control of the whole process from the heating furnace to the coiler. It is understood that the project replaces the traditional long process with a short process, and indicators such as total pollutant emissions, new water consumption per ton of steel, and comprehensive energy consumption per ton of steel are all in the leading position in the industry.


"With the strong support of party committees and governments at all levels, the first phase of Xinggang's relocation project is advancing in a coordinated manner with the large coil as the leading factor, ensuring the seamless connection of civil engineering, steel structure and mechanical and electrical installation." Ma Baoliang, deputy general manager of Xinggang, introduced that as the core engine of Xinggang's transformation and upgrading, Xinggang's large coil production line gathers world-leading process equipment and technologies in high-precision rolling and intelligent production, striving to upgrade and build "Chinese precision". At present, the foundation construction of key equipment such as electric furnaces and continuous casters has been completed, and the roughing mill and intermediate mill of the large coil project have entered the installation stage, and the imported German KOCKS three-roll reducing and sizing mill is about to be installed and debugged.

The project relies on the national-level technology center and four professional research institutes to build a "1+4" R&D and production pattern, aiming at high-end manufacturing equipment fields such as aircraft carrier arresting cables, nuclear fusion reactors, high-speed rail bearings, aerospace standard parts, and artificial intelligence robots. It focuses on breaking through strategic emerging materials such as high-speed rail bearing steel and nuclear fusion reactor steel, striving to make breakthroughs in "bottleneck" technologies in high-precision and high-end steel grades, and further replacing imports and filling domestic gaps. Its construction progress has been included in the special supervision of the Hebei Provincial Key Project Construction Ledger.
After the project is put into production, Xinggang will rank among the international advanced ranks by virtue of the core competitive advantages of high-end new products, providing important support for the development of Hebei's advanced equipment manufacturing industry cluster. According to the Hebei Provincial Key Construction Project Plan, after the new base is fully completed, Xinggang's annual output value is expected to increase by 30%, driving the upgrading of the regional new material industry level.
